Frequently Asked Questions
- What stage do you invest at?
- We invest at the pre-seed and seed stages. Our sweet spot is backing founders who have a clear vision and early signs of traction -- whether that's a working prototype, initial users, or strong domain expertise. We're comfortable being the first check in.
- Do I need to be a current USC student?
- At least one founder on the team must be a current USC undergraduate or graduate student, or a recent graduate (within one year of graduation). We're a Trojan-first fund, but your co-founders can be from anywhere.
- What's your typical check size?
- Our typical investment ranges from $5K to $25K, depending on the stage and needs of the company. We also provide hands-on support through our network of mentors, alumni founders, and industry partners.
- What's the application process?
- Start by submitting your application through our form. Our team reviews submissions on a rolling basis. If there's a fit, we'll schedule an introductory call, followed by a deeper dive with the full partnership. Decisions are typically made within two to three weeks.
